Most racing involved motorized vehicles...time to change it up! Living in Cape Breton Island on the Bras D'or Lakes is the base of all the experience I take with me!
Dance Hard! Someone once told me that was the secret to all the problems in the world...now to do it with a paddle in hand for 715KM. Don't stop and bring a little east coast to the North!
After reading all the blogs about the race...I am now questioning my reasoning! Can't wait to meet all the other crazy's! Didn't want to wake up and not ever find out what I was capable of, pushing the limit and finding out what is around the corner! Seemed like a good idea 10years ago...other than getting older, having a rad family with 3 girls 4 and under...figured...lets find out!

Being a long term Yukoner this something that I have always wanted to partake in. Bragging rights with family is also a good reason. :)

Wade guilted me.....
I have Whitewater paddled on 12 wilderness rivers over the past 20 years, but this will be my first marathon racing experience. I am an active member of Yukon Search and Rescue, and I enjoy wilderness hiking.
I am a Canadian History fan, and I am looking forward to following the route of the prospectors from the late 1890's, and in the wake of all the people that paddled this river for centuries before the gold rush.
I have done some hunting and fishing. I have hiked some and I was in a canoe once. I have seen every episode of Survivorman and I have a survival book at home.
Get in good shape. Survive. Have a good race with and build relationships with team members.
Grew up paddling Yukon rivers, taking tourists down these rivers with my father and enjoying the outdoors and showcasing our part of the world. Was a canoe instructor for kids for 3 summers. Avid outdoor enthusiast, hiking, camping, hunting, fishing.
Complete the race in good time. Make new friends and push each other to succeed.

It's an addiction and I enjoy the river. I love paddling with a group of energetic, vivacious, strong minded woman who have overcome breast cancer and as survivors we want to show and encourage other breast cancer survivors that the Yukon River Quest is absolutely achievable.
I do recreational paddling. I hike and camp into back country.
I want all my teammates and I to reach Dawson City with smiles on our faces and pride in our hearts.
I want to support breast cancer survivors and show that there is hope and that everything is possible. I also love outdoors activities and I really want to see the true nature of the Yukon River while meeting great people.

Do a lot of running sport since 17 years, 15 half Marathons since 2012, 3 Marathon in 2017 and my highlight was the YRQ in 2017 in a Voyager. Paddling experience since 2008, kayaker, lot of dragonboat competitions, including long distance races. It will be my third summer in the Yukon in series.

2017 I did the SUP 11 city tour twice, the nonstop and the 5-days, with extreme Dutch weather and this meant I was only the second person to achieve this but also planted a seed for more. Being a Naish team rider made this an approachable goal because of the support and equipment that comes with it. The 220km non-stop and the 5-days tour became a 440KM race in total.

My passion is actively focused on kayaking at large and as I've been immersed in a breadth of kayak related pursuits including numerous races, functions, travels etc. over the past fifteen years, have continuously broadened my experience base and the intensity of my kayak pursuits. As an avid outdoorsman who devotes 40%-50% of days on the water, the Yukon River Quest fulfills my desire to compete and experience an event requiring a commitment of this significance along a wilderness corridor that is of extreme interest. Training extensively for past year and race objective would be to finish in top 25%.
As I've kayaked the majority of the Missouri River system thru the States of Montana and Nebraska as well as significant portions thru the Dakotas, would like to apply my experience to the Yukon River system in an event of this magnitude.
